path of exile has released on ps4 on march 26th with the new 3.6 synthesis league. with many new exiles washing up on the shores of wraeclast in the coming days, we want to make sure you are well prepared. life in wraeclast is unforgiving at best, especially for new players. we've put together a list of 10 simple tips for beginners to make sure you get a good started in poe 3.6 synthesis league on ps4, which covers starter builds, skills, passive skill tree set, flasks, unqiue items and more.
tip 1: decide on a style of play and make a friendly poe starter build
path of exile has hundreds of skill gems and thousands of potential game styles due to its extensive passive skill tree and extensive customization of path of exile items. it can be tempting to try to do a little bit of everything. but it may well be that you do not feel very good in the end. if you choose a particular style of play (eg, a sorcerer or an archer) and stick to it, you will come much further than if you are a little master of everything. if you still have problem on building up your character, check out our poe 3.6 synthesis best starter builds.
tip 2: support your skills
poe support gems can drastically change the performance of a skill. you're not doing enough damage with ground slam? try the brutality support to increase your physical damage. ice shot does not hit enough monsters? lesser multiple projectiles support will fix the problem by turning a single projectile into three parts to decimate a lot of enemies. make sure your skills are being used.
tip 3: do not neglect your life
killing things is fun, but not dying. make sure you have enough life to survive a few big hits. the poe passive skill tree is filled with life modifiers, but they do not do much if your items do not also provide life. so look for things that keep you alive and use them! and if you want to reset your skill points, there are the best ways to refund skill & fully reset poe passive skill tree.
tip 4: resistors are incredible
you have a lot of life and you still die? check your elemental resistances in the character field! you can view your character field by pressing the touchpad to access your inventory and navigate to your character list from there. elemental damage can be fatal if you do not have enough elemental resistance. luckily, there is a lot of resistance on poe items and they can even be temporarily supplemented by auras and flasks! resistance to cold is particularly useful in act 1 and lightning in act 2 and 3.
tip 5: improve your flasks
as your character grows stronger and more robust, your life flasks fill up your life proportionately less and less. keep your eyes open for better path of exile flasks of life as you kill monsters, as a well-timed use of the bottle can be a literal lifesaver.
tip 6: unique items are not always an upgrade
it's exciting to see the orange flash of a poe unique item. but keep in mind that unique items are often very specialized and can take your character to the next level. however, it is not good to use a unique bow for your mace character. do not worry, because ...
tip 7: items can be valuable!
with the trade board, you can sell poe items you do not want to other players or sell your useless items to nps for poe currency. you can find it by pressing "options" and going to "trade board". check in if you are looking for an upgrade or have an article that you can not use.
tip 8: use your stash
your stash contains four tabs by default and is used by all characters in the same account. you can stash items that you want to use later or for a completely different character. they will still be there if you want to use them later. many players store poe equipment for their other characters in their supply. if you run out of space, you can buy more space in the store. some even have additional features that make organizing your goods even easier.
tip 9: ascends!
special stages are hidden throughout the campaign, providing access to the labyrinth of the lord - a challenging, ever-changing dungeon. it's not easy, but completing the lord's labyrinth is worth it as it gives you access to your ascendancy classes. ascents have very powerful, role-determining advantages! all but one of the character classes have three ascendancy classes. the seventh grade only has access to one and all of them at the same time ... you have to find out for yourself what we mean by that.
tip 10: do not be discouraged
path of exile has a steep learning curve, but an almost infinite depth of play. if you feel like you're stuck, ask for help or search online for tips (like this one!). or even try to start with a new character! you would be surprised how much further you get from your first character with a new character with your learned experience.
we are so happy that you are accompanying us on this journey and we look forward to playing with you!
