As with all Animal Crossing games, you can change the date in New Horizons on Nintendo Switch. In this way, you can time travel to a certain time to collect materials or DIY recipes for crafting, skip the wait time, experience day-sensitive events, and more. Beware, however, this is a method of cheating that can alter your gaming experience.
Unlike previous Animal Crossing series, you can't directly change the time and date in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Don't worry, it's still possible, but you have to go through the menu of your Nintendo Switch.
Don't launch your Animal Crossing New Horizons game. It's all on the Nintendo Switch menu.
Turn on your console
Visit the System Settings menu of your Switch
At the bottom of the Settings list, you'll find "System"
This is where you can click on "Date and time"
Set "No" in "Get date and time via the Internet"
Then you can freely change the time zone, time and date of your console
Start the game

Note:
1. By regularly changing the date of your console (and therefore the game), you risk growing weeds on your island, making turnip go bad easily, degrading your relationships with your neighbors (moving), losing your Nook Stop Streak Bonus but this will not affect your backup data.
2. In order to deter players from cheating in this way, Nintendo has implemented content updates necessary to access the various events of the game. For example, even if you advance the weather until December 25th, you won't be able to enjoy the Christmas festivities as you'll have to wait until December in real life to download an update.
