In Animal Crossing New Horizons, September is the beginning of the third season, which means that in the northern hemisphere we will transition from summer to autumn, while in the southern hemisphere players will bid farewell to winter and usher in a vibrant spring. Therefore, in September, the wind will become warmer and the weather will be more comfortable. Players in the northern hemisphere will meet the harvest holidays such as the Grape Harvest Festival, while players in the southern hemisphere will celebrate the arrival of spring by collecting Bamboo and making Bamboo Noodle Slides. Grape Harvest Festival
Date: September 1 to 30

The world of Animal Crossing New Horizons enters the autumn season in September, bringing with it new dedicated events, including the Grape Harvest Festival. A special item- Grape-Harvest Basket, containing some bunches of grapes, to which a pair of rope straps are tied that allow you to equip it on the back of your character as if it were a backpack , inspired by the festivities linked to the harvest of countries such as Italy, France and Spain but available for all users of the Nintendo life-sim. Similar to last year, you can otain the Grape-Harvest Basket from Nook Stop throughout the whole month.
Moon-Viewing Day
Date: September 12 to 21

When it comes to stars and planets in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you inevitably return to the Land of the Rising Sun. This time we will talk about the Moon-Viewing Day, in which the satellite of our planet is celebrated. This celebration is of Chinese origin, and was introduced in Japan in the Heian era (794-1185) and is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the eighth month of the Japanese lunar calendar. During the Tsukimi decorations are made with Susuki (known in the West as Miscanthus), an ornamental plant, and moon-shaped sweets are made, called Tsukimi dango and Moon Cake. In this years, Nintendo refresh the event by adding these two food item in the game, alongside with the Moon Rug, you can buy them from Nook Stop from September 12th to 21st.
Chuseok
Date: September 12 to 21

In the middle of September, a brand new holiday will be celebrated in Animal Crossing New Horizons for the first time, which is the Chuseok festival from South Korea. Chuseok (also known as Hangawi) literally "Autumn eve", is a major harvest festival and a three-day holiday in both North and South Korea celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar on the full moon. Songpyeon, rice cake that represents Chuseok will be available in the Special Goods of Nook Shopping during 2021 from September 12 to 21 in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Bug Off (Northern Hemisphere)
Date: September 18
Items: fishing-themed items and trophies
Again, at the third Saturday of September, Flick will host his Bug-Off Event on your Animal Crossing New Horizons island again, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, by talking with him, you can take part in the event and catch as many bugs as you can in 3 minutes to accumulate points for exchanging fishing-themed items and bug off trophies.
As the seasons turnover, in September, summer shells will disappear from beaches in the northern hemisphere, and snow and ice will melt on southern hemisphere’s islands. If you want to collect these DIY materials, you may have to wait until the next year. And new seasonal items and DIY recipes will come to your island with the new seasons, such as Acorns and Pinecones for making Bounty Little Tree and bamboo for making Bamboo Noodle Slide.
Acorns and Pine Cones & Tree's Bounty-themed Items

Starting from September 1 to December 10 in the Northern Hemisphere, you can collect acorns and pine cones by shaking trees, if you want to DIY craft the Tree's Bounty Series Furniture collection. And during this period, the Tree's Bounty-themed DIY recipes are available from from Tom Nook.

In South Hemisphere, Spring is returning with bamboo sprung out on your island, so it is great time to collect the Bamboo Shoots and Young Spring Bamboo for crafting the Bamboo theme furniture which are indispensable items to create a Japanese style designs. If you’ve not have Bamboo tree on your island, you have to head to Mystery Island, then collect some Bamboo Shoots and Young Spring Bamboo there. Don’t forget to plant some Bamboo Shoots on your own island for getting your own steady supply of Bamboo. During the spring season, you will have a chance to get Bamboo DIY recipes from pop balloons.
