PoE 3.18 Blade Vortex Build - Path of Exile Best Mapping Build

Today we’ll go through a POE Blade Vortex build for 3.18 league, it will help a lot for your map clearing in Path of Exile. Check out the build breakdown covering ascendancy, passive tree, gear & items, gems, and jewels.

Ascendancy 

Starting with the Ascendancy, we choose the Elementalist because this class gives us lots of area of effect and elemental damage, you need both when you are playing an Autobomber build. In order to get these bonuses, first, we have to path to Mastermind of Discord, this node adds an additional 25 elemental resistance penalty to any exposure you inflict pretty much every belt can inflict exposure these days, next we take what's arguably pathetic's most broken ascendancy, Heart of Destruction, this one gives a 60 increased area effect and 30 more elemental damage for 4 seconds, if we have hit a unique enemy, you cannot have both bonuses up at the same time. We already have too much damage while mapping and we don't need that extra area effect while bossing, basically, the downside of this node is irrelevant as you get the correct bonuses all the time. 


Then we go for some Golem support nodes, these remove the need to micromanage them and increase their bonuses along the way with them. You will have up to three golems, each having tripled effect on you which ends up being as powerful as a 15 more damage, ascendancy node not impressive, but also not bad, but with that being said, we are done with our ascendancy.


Passive Tree

We have one that focuses on the area of effect lightning nodes because that's the element we converted our damage to, we also have power charges and some life. Once you are high level enough, consider investing in a large colossal that adds the following notables: Thunderstruck, Prismatic Heart, and Doryani’s Lesson. You can get different notables if you want, just make sure to have Doryani’s Lesson on your jewel. We branch off into two medium cluster jewels. each one adds some powerful area effect notables like Vast Power and Towering Threat.

Gear

- Inpulsa's Broken Heart: this one is responsible for all shiny explosions, gives us increased damage if we have shocked an enemy, recently increased shock effect, which further increases our damage and some life that alongside causing enemies to explode, dealing five percent of their life as lightning damage, this is even better than the pre-nerfed elevated crusader explode mod on air chests. Inpulsa's Broken Heart alone isn't capable of giving you the best result because it only causes the enemy's shock to explode, dealing damage that doesn't shock, what does that mean is that the chest will never chain off of itself, but we chain explosions in this build. Eldritch implicit, which can be rolled on rare POE items, one of these implicit proliferates shock to only by enemies in a decent area around itself, this implicit can be rolled on gloves and it's pretty common as well, even its lowest tier is good enough. Spreading shock with Inpulsa isn't new, people used to do that with a pair of gloves called Storm's Gift, it's a good idea to condense that item into a single implicit, which you can add to any rare gloves you want pretty crazy, but it's a free upgrade

- Void Battery (Prophecy Wand): it is a no-brainer in any spell build as it gives you more damage than any mirror tier wants if you stack enough power charges.

- Miracle Ward (Samnite Helmet): an easy rare helm with lots of life, plus one to maximum power charges and a 20% critical strike multiplier, after that you should try to get as many defensive modifiers as your budget allows, just make sure to get a reservation enchantment on your home, which fits any of the aura or heralds, we are using that's required for our specific reservation setup. 

- Nemesis Dash (Two-Toned Boots): a pair of fast boots, it offers 35% increased movement speed, 10% chance to gain elusive on critical strike, and 25% increased effect of tailwind on you. 

- Precursor's Emblem (Two Stone Ring): a unique ring with +1 to maximum power charges, you can roll plus one to maximum power charges on any ring thanks to sentinel crafting.

- Havoc Spiral (Synthesised Sapphire Ring): another plus one power charge ring with tier one life, +79 to maximum life, and +71 to maximum mana. 

- Soul Pendant (Citrine Amulet): this one with moving speed area of effect, plus one to minimum frenzy charge craft or endurance charge, if you prefer being more tanky and even more area effect, make sure to anoint infuse on your amulet for the last power charge, which we could not afford to path to on the passive 3. 

- Headhunter (Leather Belt): it's quite cheap this league despite being buffed in terms of having triple duration on stolen rare modifiers, it's a nice stats filler as we need both strength and dexterity, try to enchant your headhunter with an increased area effect, while you have arcane surge lab enchant once you have time.


Gems

For our main six-link we have Vaal Blade Vortex, Anomalous Fist to Lightning Support, awakened Lightning Penetration, awakened Spell Echo, Anomalous Inspiration, and Power Charge On Critical.  


Next, we got a four-link reservation setup, starting with Wrath, Herald of Thunder, Herald of Ash, and level 4 Enlighten.


We invested a little bit into reservation on our passive tree that allows us to go into a second aura set up in it, we have Petrified Blood, Herald of Purity, Precision and level 4 Enlighten if you feel that your mana isn't enough, then consider dropping one of your heralds instead our last mandatory gem setup contains Ice Golem, Flame Golem, Chaos Golem, and Frostblink. Feel free to link your Frostblink with arcane surge, if you got your belt enchant going. 


Jewels

- Watcher's Eye: we are only using unique jewels in this build, it has both increased critical strike chance, while affected by wrath and increased crystal strike multiplier well affected by precision. 

- Militant Faith Timeless Jewel: mentions high templar dominance, specifically place it in this specific socket to maximize its effect, also make sure that it doesn't convert notables within its range, this tool will convert only by keystones into inner conviction, inner conviction gives us three percent more spell damage per power charge, that's around one third more damage from just a single joule. 

- Forbidden Flame & Forbidden Flesh: both of them mention forbidden power occultist ascendancy node, forbidden power gives a six percent increased damage and aerial effect per power charge that alongside increasing their maximum count by one. We have a total of 12 power charges and dispelled, also we got 132 increased area effects from both ascendancies combined pretty crazy. 

- Dissolution of the Flesh: this one increases our effective life pull by 80 when combined with petrified blood, the downside is that you need to avoid taking damage for 2 seconds if you wish to recover lost life, as this jew will reserve it instead of taking it as normal damage, also you need to have your life already at 50 at the start of every map to capitalize on the interaction between this jewel and petrified blood.
