Diablo 2 Resurrected Best Low Level Runewords - Easiest and Best Starter Runewords in D2R

Diablo 2 Resurrected Act 1 is pretty easy on Normal difficulty and what's great about that is The Countess, it can drop runes, it should be easy to construct a couple of very powerful items that can get your character off to a very strong start. Here are some of the best D2R low-level runewords. 


If you find a superior piece of armor or other types of D2R items with plus enhanced defense, enhanced damage, or skill bonuses for a certain class, all of these will remain on the final runeword that is created.  When you've found rare runes, you'll want to use only the highest stat rolled items once you finally acquire those runes since you want to maximize your item's power. You don’t want to waste some very rare Diablo 2 runes.


1. Steel 

Steel is an incredible early game weapon by combining Tir plus El in a two-socket sword axe or mace, there's 20% enhanced damage, +3 to minimum and max damage, +50 attack rating which is very important for hitting mobs, if you're a melee character with a 50 chance of open wounds, a weapon mod which leads to a constant loss of life on the target, hit over 8 seconds or 200 frames, it's not actual damage the target receives, but a negative life regeneration which is not offset by the target's damage regeneration for monsters, hirelings, pets, etc. One of the most powerful things about Steel is the +25 increased attack speed, this is great for a holy fire paladin, which gets plus fire damage for each hit and so you just want to hit lots of times and so that increased attack speed works perfectly. This makes your gameplay extremely easy, you can usually take this weapon all the way through normal mode without ever having to replace it.

2. Malice

Malice is a three socketed melee weapon, it's going to give you +33% enhanced damage, +9 to maximum damage, and 100% of open wounds as well as -25% to target defenses, -100 to monster defense per hit, prevent monster heal, and +50 to attack rating as well as drain life -5. This might be an option for other classes besides Paladin, maybe a Barbarian, this will also last you quite a long time because this one probably hits even harder than Steel. 4. Nadir

Another armor piece you can get very early in Act 1 is Nadir, we need to look for a two-socket helm and if you add Nef and Tir, you can create Nadir runeword. It’s gonna have +50% enhanced defense, +10 defense, +30 defense vs missile, level 13 Cloak of Shadows (9 charges), if you run out of charges, you just have to repair the item to get them back. And +2 to mana after each kill, +5 to strength, -33% extra gold from monsters, and -3 to light radius. 10 defense is going to make your character much tankier and survive through Act one. You can just run Countess a few times to get these runes.

5. Leaf

When it comes to caster weapons, the first choice is Leaf. A very good low-level runeword in Diablo 2 Resurrected for Sorceress or Druid class that is a fire spec, all it takes to make this runeword is a Tir and a Ral, both of which can easily be acquired from normal Countess farming. One of the easiest ways to get a staff with two sockets is from Drognan. If you can't find it in Act one, Act two you should be able to get it much more easily. This is an amazing rune word shield perfect for Nightmare or even sooner if you want to be really tanky versus spells. In fact, these runes are also given to you in Act 5 as a quest reward, but if you wanted earlier you could also create them very quickly and last for our ranged weapon.

It is Ort plus Eth, you'll need a two open socket ranged weapon, a very strong rune word, you get plus 33 enhanced damage, 66 to attack rating, adds 1 to 50 lightning damage, minus 25 target defense, you gain 25 defense, 25 faster run/walk, 25 increased attack speed, and a percent chance to cast level one twister when struck. This is very powerful, not very difficult to create, it will last you a very good time depending on your luck.
