POE 3.8 Blight Ascendancy Changes - Path Of Exile 3.8 Saboteur, Assassin, Raider, Necromancer Ascendancy Rework & Update

The new expansion 3.8 Blight brings some new gameplay, renewed archetypes with new gems to Path of Exile which attracted most people. In addition, tons of reworks happen to ascendancy especially for the Assassin, Saboteur, Raider and Necromancer ascendancy. In this POE 3.8 Blight Ascendancy changes guide, we will take a close view and analysis of these ascendancy classes in Path of Exile Blight League. More POE 3.8 Ascendancy rework & overhaul will be updated here once it's announced.


Path Of Exile Blight Ascendancy Changes & Analysis 

3.8 Blight expansion will be dropped into Path of Exile in a few days. Many Summoner mechanics have been significantly revamped. GGG has buffed the per-gem-level progression of many minion types, added new support gems that allow you to fine-tune minion behavior, also brought some buffs for huge reworks to the Raider, Saboteur, Necromancer, Assassin ascendancy classes. Here we will list all skills of each POE Blight Ascendancy update and make some analysis to help you understand the changes better.

POE 3.8 Blight Necromancer Ascendancy Overhaul & Changes  

It is a pretty serious overhaul. Gone are the skill-specific nodes that have been near-required on skeleton, zombie, and spectre builds, and in their place are new, more generally powerful nodes.

POE 3.8 Blight Necromancer Ascendancy

Below is the complete list of Path of Exile 3.8 Necromancer Ascendancy skills:

1. Minion Damage, Skill Duration

10% increased skill effect duration 

Minions deal 15% increased damage


2. Mistress of Sacrifice

Your offering skills also affect you

Your offerings have 25% reduced the effect on you

30% increased skill effect duration

30% increased minion duration.


3. Minion Damage, Cast Speed

4% increased Cast Speed

Minions deal 15% increased damage


4. Plaguebringer

If you've consumed a corpse Recently, you and your minions have 30% increased area of effect

With at least one nearby corpse, you and nearby allies deal 10% more damage

With at least one nearby corpse, nearby enemies deal 10% reduced damage.


(Recently refers to the past 4 seconds)

5. Minion Damage, Cast Speed

4% increased cast speed

Minions deal 15% increased damage


6. Corpse Pact

30% increased damage if you have consumed a corpse recently

2% increased attack and cast speed for each corpse consumed recently

Enemies near corpses you spawned recently are chilled and shocked, Corpses you spawn have 50% increased maximum life.


(Recently refers to the past 4 seconds, Killing an enemy is not spawning a corpse, Shock increases damage taken by 20%, Chill reduces enemy action speed by 10%)

7. Minion Damage and Life

Minions have 10% increased maximum life

Minions deal 15% increased Damage


8. Mindless Aggression

Minions have 30% increased movement speed

Minions deal 30% increased damage

Minions have 10% increased attack speed

Minions have 10% increased cast speed


9. Minion Damage and Life

Minions have 10% increased maximum life

Minions deal 15% increased damage


10. Bone Barrier

Grants level 20 bone armour skill

1% additional physical damage reduction power minion, up to 10%

+3% to all elemental resistances per minion, up to 30%

3% increased the recovery rate of life and energy shield per minion, up to 30% 

Minions have 20% more maximum life


11. Minion Damage and Life

Minions have 10% increased maximum life

Minions deal 15% increased damage


12. Unnatural Strength

+2 to level of all minion skill gems


13. Minion Damage, Mana

8% increased maximum mana

Minions deal 15% increased damage


14. Essence Glutton

20% increased maximum mana

For each nearby corpse, you and nearby allies regenerate 0.2% of energy shield per second, up to 2.0% per second

For each nearby corpse, you and nearby allies regenerate 5 men per second, up to 50 per second

Regenerate 8% of energy shield over 2 seconds when you consume a corpse

Regenerate 8% of mana over 2 seconds when you consume a corpse


15. Minion Damage, Aura Effect

Minions deal 15% increased damage

5% increased effect of Non-Curse auras from your skills


16. Commander of Darkness

Auras from you skills grant 3% increased attack and cast, speed to you and allies

You and allies affected by auras from your skills deal 30% increased damage

You and allies affected by auras from your skills have +20% to elemental resistance.


POE 3.8 Blight Saboteur Ascendancy Overhaul & Changes

The Saboteur has had an interesting mix of changes where the Necromancer looks like an entirely new ascendancy. An unrecognizable compared to what existed in 3.7 and earlier the Saboteur looks very recognizable, all the same nodes are there though some of them have been changed, some have been tweaked and come are being thoroughly reworked. The biggest change though with the Saboteur Ascendancy is actually not the nodes on it, but the changes that are happening to mine skills, in particular minds are being utterly transformed in 3.8.

10% increased trap damage

10% increased mine damage

4% increased movement speed


2. Born in the Shadows

Cannot be blinded

10% reduced damage taken from blinded enemies 

30% increased damage with Hits and ailments against blinded enemies 

25% chance to blind enemies on Hit 

Nearby enemies are blinded


(Ailments that deal damage are bleeding, ignited and poisoned)

(Blinded enemies have their chance to hit halved)

3. Trap and Mine Damage, Mine Throwing Speed

10% increased trap damage

10% increased mine damage

5% increased mine throwing speed


4. Bomb Specialist 

You gain 4% increased area of effect for each mine 

20% increased mine throwing speed if you detonated mines recently 

40% increased damage if you detonated mines recently 

Mines have 20% increased detonation speed

10% increased trap damage

6. Demolitions Specialist

100% increased effect of auras from mines

Mines hinder enemies near them for 2 seconds when they land, reducing movement speed by 40%

10% increased trap damage

10% increased mine damage

4% increased movement speed


8. Pyromaniac

Immune to Ignite and shock 

Regenerate 1% of life per second for each mine detonated recently, up to 10% per second

Regenerate 1% of life per second for each trap triggered recently, up to 10% per second

20% reduced mana cost of skills that throw traps 

20% reduced mana reservation of skills that throw mines

10. Perfect Crime

POE 3.8 Blight Assassin Ascendancy Overhaul & Changes

New defensive options in Elusive that the community is having trouble assessing the power of; a minor nerf to one of the most powerful Assassin nodes but lots of buffs to the rest of the tree, makes the Assassin both a more powerful and more versatile Ascendancy than it was before.

2. Mistwalker

50% chance to gain Elusive on critical Strike

20% increased attack and cast Speed while Elusive

8% reduced damage taken while Elusive

25% increased effect of Elusive

You take no extra damage from critical strikes while Elusive


(Elusive initially grants 20% chance to Dodge Spell or Attack Hits, and 40% increased movement speed. The buff reduces its effect over time, removing itself at 0 effect)

3.Critical Strike Chance, Power Charge Duration 

10% increased power charge duration 

15% increased critical strike chance


4. Unstable Infusion 

10% chance to gain a power charge on critical strike

20% chance to gain a power charge on no-critical strike

+1 to maximum power charges


5. Critical Strike Chance, Power Charge Duration 

10% increased Power Charge Duration

6. Deadly Infusion

+ 8% to critical strike multiplier per power charge

+2% critical strike chance while at maximum power charges

8. Opportunistic 

20% increased movement speed if you’ve killed recently

Damage from your critical strikes cannot be reflected
