NBA 2K20 Release Date
We don’t have a release date yet, but according to the previous years’ experience, we can expect the NBA 2K20 release date to land sometime in September ahead of Black Friday and the holiday shopping season. Last year, NBA 2K19 released on the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. While there's no indication of platforms for NBA 2K20 on the leaked image, there certainly isn't any reason to suspect that this year's game would skip out on any of the platforms of last year's iteration.
Here is the list of previous NBA 2K release dates:
NBA 2K19 Released Date - September 11, 2018
NBA 2K18 Released Date - September 19, 2017
NBA 2K17 Released Date - September 20, 2016

NBA 2K20 New Features & Gameplay
It is predicted that there could be a few interesting features introduced, including the WNBA.
- Mode Offline: On the subject of MyCareer, maybe this year's game will give us the option of playing the mode offline. This could go hand in hand with the removal of archetypes mentioned above. After all, creating an absolute powerhouse of a player with overpowered stats is no real problem if you're playing offline.
- New animations: pushing button will not be in NBA 2K20.
- Archetypes: Some builds being dominant themselves with players not needing to be good with them.
- All around builds: Everyone is a superstar, but there’s a skills gap for who’s good at the game like 2K16.
NBA 2K20 Demo/Prelude
The NBA 2K’s previous few releases had something special going on with demos, namely, instead of giving off a couple of teams to play exhibition matches with, the demos reveal a bit of the narrative, which looks like a prologue to the whole tale. Gamers conceive a character and work their way up into a professional career in the NBA, reaching the full title with the evolution. This year’s demo release might happen just like last year’s, landing a week or so prior to the full title. So you're looking at the end of August before you get your first taste of NBA 2K20.
NBA 2K20 New Badges - Which Badges Should Be Added Into NBA 2K20
Player ratings are a big deal in NBA 2K, but the badges are what truly separates a player in the game. Gone are the days when the virtual athlete was defined solely by his overall rating. In the new season, there might be some new badges, we can predict that: Conditioner, Rebounding badges, Euro Step Badge, Faker, Foul Attractor, Jelly Layups, Flashy dunker, Half Court.
NBA 2K19 Cover Athlete
Who will be the NBA 2K20 cover athlete? NBA 2K20 does not have a cover and official information of it yet. And we can almost confirm James Harden, LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Kyrie Irving won't be the candidates. James Harden might win MVP again after putting up MyCareer on Pro difficulty numbers, but he's linked in tightly with EA Sports, which eliminates him from the discussion. LeBron James was just on the special edition from last year, he also didn't have the greatest of seasons (by his lofty standards) in his first year with the Los Angeles Lakers, so he won’t be the cover athlete either. Kyrie Irving was the cover athlete two years ago, so that's probably not going to happen. Steph Curry is the greatest shooter who has ever lived, but there is no unique buzz about him currently. So far, we predict Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, Luka Doncic, Dirk Nowitzki could be the NBA 2K20 cover athlete candidates.
NBA 2K20 Pre-Order Bonus
You can expect 2K Sports to offer some sort of pre-order bonus. Again, we expect the bonus to fall in line with last year’s offerings which included 5,000 Virtual Currency, 10 MyTEAM League Packs (delivered one a week), and 1 Cover Athlete Sapphire MyTEAM Card if you bought the standard edition ahead of time.
More NBA 2K20 news and details will be updated here as soon as we get confirmed information from EA.
